ABOUT VICTORIA

VM Coniston Fells.jpg

Based in the Lake District, United Kingdom, a UNESCO World Heritage site, I paint the landscape as I experience it on my travels by foot over the fells and iconic mountains of the region.

Working predonimantely in oil, I am passionate about capturing the power and beauty of nature through art.

I was born and raised in South Africa, and trained under the late Francois Visser. My initial work embraced the expansive, dramatic African landscape - often featuring the Kokerboom (Quiver tree) unique to the arid interior.

Having sold my first painting at the age of 14, I was fortunate to be represented by galleries in Cape Town, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch by 17.

After a childhood spent exploring the slopes of the Cape Mountains, I found a natural affinity with the rugged Cumbrian landscape. My Lake District art embodies my passion for the area, which I often explore from my Ambleside home, at the heart of the region.
